Brian Albertsen joined the University of Chicago as the Director of Admissions for the Masters Program in Computer Science in March 2024. In this role, Albertsen leads the MPCS admissions and recruiting efforts throughout the entire prospective student lifecycle. He is a seasoned enrollment management professional with ten years of experience and a track record of success in driving student recruitment and enrollment strategies. His enrollment management experience includes expertise in student recruitment, admissions application review, scholarship awarding, enrollment data and technology management, marketing and communication, event planning, and budget management.
In addition, Albertsen has held leadership positions in the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling. He is a current member of NAGAP, The Association for Graduate Enrollment Management, and the Midwest Chapter of The Association for Graduate Enrollment Management.
His previous experience includes admissions and enrollment management positions at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Loyola University Chicago, Illinois State University, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Albertsen received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music from Illinois State University and his Master of Science Degree in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University.
