A native of Memphis, Tennessee, William Smith graduated from St. Louis University with a degree in Cultural Anthropology and African American Studies in 2016. Before joining the MSCAPP program, William served as the Administrative Coordinator for the Office of Scholar Programs at Washington University in St. Louis assisting with programming, recruitment, and advising. He also worked as a librarian for the St. Louis County Library system specializing in programs for teens and those centered around diversity and inclusion. Other roles included working as a desk supervisor at Iowa State University and working with the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis.
