Ishan earned a Bachelor of Science (Research), First Class, in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), one of India’s premier research universities, and completed a PhD in Computer Science at NYU’s Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. His research included various topics in algorithmic game theory (stable matchings and more generally matching markets), metric geometry (low distortion lattice embeddings) and computational geometry (colorings of point sets in the plane). He also worked on novel variations of the online matching problem.
