The April 2018 issue of Communications of the ACM contains an article entitled “Realizing the Potential of Data Science”.   Drawn from a report written by members of the National Science Foundation’s Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Advisory Committee, the article focuses on the challenges and opportunities for R&D agencies to support and nurture data science. Four of the co-authors: Francine Berman, Michael Franklin, Brent Hailpern and Rob Rutenbar discuss the nascent field in a short companion video at bit.ly/2uoaHVH.
